Subsidy on solar panels
Consumers can get subsidies on the construction of solar rooftop systems thanks to a program run by the government called the Surya Gujarat yojana.
The Government of India is subsidizing the installation of solar panels on rooftops around the nation. With this program the use of renewable energy is promoted.
While in the beginning various segments like residential, government, commercial, industrial, and other types of buildings were benefited with subsidy, now only residential buildings are eligible for subsidy. Solar Subsidy in Gujarat
Gujarat Residential Solar Rooftop Scheme allows residents to set up / install solar panels ranging from 1 KW to 10 KW on their roofs with subsidy. While higher capacity solar plants can also be installed, the subsidy eligibility will only be upto first 10kw of solar system.
If you install solar rooftop panels up to 3 kW, the government will provide a 40 percent subsidy on the benchmark cost. Simultaneously, installing solar panels up to 10 kW will get a 20% subsidy on the capacity above 3 kw.
How to apply for a solar rooftop subsidy in Gujarat?
- To qualify for the subsidy and have a solar PV system installed on your roof,
you must work with one of the approved vendors for Surya Gujarat Yojana
in your discom. - Applications can be filled out through these vendors only.
- Fill out the form, attach other documents, and sign.
- Return the completed form to the vendor.
- Ensure that you just pay the subsidized amount and not the whole amount.
